Sustainable beauty becomes a beauty buzzword recently. What does it mean? It is a movement about adopting eco-friendly, zero-waste choices and purchases for the beauty routine. Supporting sustainable beauty brands and products is another way. Here is the ultimate guide to building a sustainable beauty routine.

(1) Recycle/Reuse the containers

You can recycle the skincare products with glass or plastic packaging. Ensure the containers are empty, clean, and remove the flip-top lids, trigger heads, or pumps before recycling. On the other hand, you can upcycle the used skincare containers and craft them as a DIY makeup brush holder or flower pot!

(2) Reusable cotton pads

Stop using face wipes and cotton pads to remove the makeup. These single-use products contribute to landfills in whopping numbers. Reusable cloths and pads are eco-friendly options. Or you can go for the cleansing balm to rub it into your skin and melt away makeup. It is easy to use and environmental-friendly.

(3) Simplify the beauty routine

Using multi-tasking products can help simplify the beauty routine and cut back on waste. For example, you can use a multi-purpose balm as lip balm and hand cream; a lip tint as blush and eyeshadow; a BB cream as moisturizer and light foundation. Try to buy less and consume less.

(4) Save water for planet earth

Do not leave the water running when you are washing the face. We suggest you massage the facial cleanser over your face with damp fingers first and then splash your face with water to rinse off.

(5) Buy sustainable brand products with eco-friendly packaging or go package-free

Bring your own reusable bag when you go shopping.  Choose and purchase sustainable brand beauty products with eco-friendly packaging or without packaging. Let’s minimize the amount of waste caused by your beauty routine.
