Skin brightening is one of the most common new year skin goals. Are you suffering from dull, blemish, or uneven skin? Adding skin brightening ingredients into your daily regimen can help to reduce dark spots, pigmentation, and regenerate a glowing complexion. Here are the best ingredients in skincare products to get glowing skin.

Vitamin C

Vitamin C is the most well-known skin brightening ingredient. Vitamin C is an effective dark spot fighter to prevent pigment caused by breakouts or sun damage, which will lead to a dull and uneven appearance. It is also rich in antioxidants to help fight free radicals, boost collagen production, and prevent signs of aging.

Ensure to wear sunscreen on top if you use the skincare products containing Vitamin C in the morning as it makes your skin more sensitive to the sun. And do not mix Vitamin C with retinol, AHAs, and BHAs.

Niacinamide

Niacinamide is a form of Vitamin B3. It is also one of the most effective skin brightening ingredients to reduce dark spots, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation significantly. Niacinamide can shrink the pores, reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and control excess sebum production.

Niacinamide is compatible with other antioxidants like Vitamin C. Their antioxidant result is amplified when Niacinamide and Vitamin C are combined. Dark spots and pigmentation are visibly faded to reveal an even skin tone and a glowing appearance.

Retinol

Retinol is a form of Vitamin A, which is particularly effective to combat hyperpigmentation by speeding up cell turnover in the upper skin layers and regenerate new skin cells in the base skin layers to get a healthier and clearer complexion.

Applying skincare products containing Retinol in the evening and avoid layering with Vitamin C, AHAs, and BHAs. Remember to wear sunscreen in the morning after application.
